Castellana Caves are the largest Italian karst formations. The short tour winds along a fascinating scenario for about 1 km (50 min). The longer route is 3 km (about 2 hours). Caves and rocks have sometimes mythological names.

From the first cave called “Grave” through the Black Cave, the Owl Cave, the corridor of the Snake, the Cave of the Precipice and the Little Heaven, you will reach the bright and shining Grotta Bianca, White Grotto, defined as the one of the most beautiful caves in the world.

The caves continue well beyond the stretch opened to the public and have a concentration of works of art made by the slow flow of water in the depths of the earth, stalactites and stalagmites with a thousand colours, fluorescent in alabaster, underground lakes, a world that only the imagination of
nature could create.
